Build a business
that runs without you.

Most stop earning the moment the owner stops working. The Entrepreneur Learning Lab is where that changes — two tracks: the structure to build it, the systems to run it.

The Lab

A business that runs on systems, not on you

Most small business owners don't own a business. They own a job.

AVCCI built the Entrepreneur Learning Lab to change that. Two tracks, one outcome: a business that runs on structure and systems instead of running on you.

The tracks answer the same question from opposite ends — how do I build something that doesn't depend on me being inside it? One answers with structure and mindset. The other answers with systems and AI. Neither works alone. Mindset without systems is a good plan you're too busy to execute. Systems without mindset is automating a job you never should have owned.

You don't need a perfect business. You need one that stays afloat when you step away from it.

Two tracks

Same destination. Two roads.

One builds the business. The other keeps it from leaking. Take either on its own — or both, in order.

Track One

Zero to Launch

The foundation

If someone requests your work, you do the work they requested to get paid, and then you wait for someone to request more — you don't own a business, you own a job. This track builds the other thing: a business with enough capacity to keep earning without your direct effort.

Owner

Trains small business operators to become consistently profitable by building an owner's mindset — the capacity for a business to keep earning without the owner's direct effort.

Six steps
01

Your special sauce

The core belief that carries through everything you do — and the problem you actually solve.

  • Your WHY
  • Your WOW
  • Vitamin or pain reliever?
  • Features tell, benefits sell
02

Your customer and your competition

Who needs this, whether they can afford it, where they look for it, and who else is already selling to them.

  • Target customer
  • Buying triggers
  • Direct and indirect competitors
  • Differentiation
03

Your brand

Twelve elements that make a business recognizable, trusted, and worth more than the sum of what it sells.

  • Name, logo, colors, voice
  • Consistency and trust
  • Perceived value
  • Emotional connection
04

Lead generation

Leads are the lifeblood. Not every lead becomes a customer, so generate the most you can for your time, money, and effort — then measure what worked.

  • Marketing funnel
  • Customer journey
  • Measuring effectiveness
  • Tracking the numbers
05

Scale your success

Focus on what you know, engage relentlessly, and serve the customers you already have — then grow on systems, people, and reinvested revenue.

  • Loyalty and referrals
  • Networking and community
  • Systems that measure
  • Reinvesting profit
06

Exit strategy

Without a plan, your business stops when you do. Two out of three owners have no exit plan at all.

  • Hire a CEO
  • Sell the business
  • Liquidate
  • Valuation basics
Track Two

Buoyancy, Not Perfection

AI, automation, and CRM/ERP

Five sessions on AI, automation, and CRM/ERP — each one split two ways: how it applies to running a business, and how it applies to running your own day. The bottleneck for most small businesses isn't a lack of information about AI. It's judgment about which tool to trust with which decision. That's the skill this track builds.

Five sessions
01

The Landscape

What's actually AI-native versus AI-added right now — and where to look so you aren't relearning the field every six months.

In the business
  • Tools that take action vs. a chatbot bolted on
  • Reading the vendor's AI claim
  • Where to look to stay current
For you
  • A thinking partner, not a faster search engine
  • Where it genuinely outperforms you
  • Where it doesn't — and how to tell
02

Choosing Your LLM

One assistant you trust beats four you half-use. How to choose on evidence instead of on the hype cycle.

In the business
  • ChatGPT vs. Claude vs. Gemini vs. Copilot
  • Pricing at team scale
  • Data handling
  • Integrations with what you already run
For you
  • The same comparison for one person
  • Picking one based on how you think
  • Committing instead of collecting
03

Prompting That Actually Works

The gap between a useful answer and a generic one is almost always the prompt, not the model.

In the business
  • Market research
  • Defining your ICP
  • Competitive analysis
  • Drafting a business plan
For you
  • Daily productivity
  • Thinking through a decision
  • Learning something new fast
  • Writing in your own voice
04

Automation & CRM/ERP

What's worth automating at startup stage, what isn't yet, and where a CRM or ERP actually earns its seat.

In the business
  • Lead capture and follow-up
  • Invoicing
  • Reporting that builds itself
  • Where CRM/ERP actually fits
For you
  • Calendar and scheduling
  • Email triage
  • Capturing tasks before they're lost
05

Building Your Stack

Assembling a toolkit you'll actually use — and cutting what's overkill at stage zero.

In the business
  • A real toolkit for a new business
  • What's overkill at stage zero
  • Cost per seat vs. hours returned
  • When to add the next one
For you
  • Auditing what you actually use
  • Cutting the overlap
  • A stack simple enough to maintain
